Temple Croft
Care Home
We believe that the staff at Temple Croft are friendly, efficient and excellent in holistic caring. The senior staff, Senior Carers, are all very experienced and five of the six Senior Carers have NVQ Level 3 qualifications.
All new staff have to undertake the 12 week induction program as defined by the Care Quality Commission, our regulatory authority. All our staff are trained to the defined mandatory standards with most having more than the mandatory training. We encourage all our care staff to train to at least NVQ level II.
The Manager of the Home has actually been at the home for over 20 years her previous employment was as a nurse in the NHS she has also undertaken the NVQ Level 4 Registered Managers award. She takes a personal role in the ongoing training of Moving & Handling as she is the trainer for this and encourages the development of all her staff. She leads by example and often undertakes all new training herself so that she can help the staff in their training. Recently the Home made Dementia training, Customer Service training and Equality and Diversity training mandatory for all care staff also.
There is a Senior Care on duty at Temple Croft 24 hours, 7 days a week, and four other members of care staff on during the day and three at nighttimes. Depending on occupancy levels the number of care staff is increased when needed.
We are very proud of our staff because, they get to know all our clients very well and are able to care for them in every way, encouraging, prompting, reassuring, listening and helping them where necessary with personal care, any problems and giving any other assistance that may be required.
In addition to the care staff there are 5 committed domestic staff to do the "housework" and “laundry Service” they are very important for infection control and general cleanliness and hygiene, and 3 excellent cooks that take care of all the dietary needs of the clientss including special diets, nutritious food, and the making of the yummy cakes and desserts. All of the staff get to know our residents very well and each resident is assigned a key worker. It is their task to communicate with the client, relaying their needs & changed needs back to other members of staff and really this becomes a friendship & trust between the client, their relatives and the home.
